About EBM Marketing

We are the part of marketing that has to look someone in the eye.

Founded and run in Saginaw, EBM Marketing represents brands where the decision gets made — on the floor, in front of a real person, with no ad copy to hide behind.

Our Story

Built for a market that notices the difference.

EBM Marketing started with a frustration that anyone who has worked retail will recognise. Brands were spending real money to get a shopper within arm's reach of their product, and then leaving that moment to chance — an out-of-date shelf tag, a busy store associate, a display nobody could explain.

We built the company to own that moment properly. That means trained representatives instead of temporary bodies, a coaching structure that catches problems the same day, and reporting that tells a partner what we actually heard rather than what they hoped to hear.

Mid-Michigan is a good place to do this seriously. It is a market where word travels, where the same customers come back through the same doors, and where doing the job badly is remembered. That accountability is a feature, not a risk.

What We Stand On

Four standards we do not negotiate.

These are not aspirations on a wall. They are the things a representative can be corrected for on their first day.

01

Tell the truth, including the inconvenient part

If a product is not right for someone, our representatives are expected to say so. A brand's reputation in a small market is worth more than a signature, and we would rather report a lower number than build one on a bad fit.

02

Know the product cold

Nobody represents a partner brand until they can handle the difficult version of the conversation. Certification is real, it is repeated when a line changes, and it is the reason store staff trust our team on the floor.

03

Coach daily, not annually

Field leaders work the floor alongside the team. Interactions get observed and debriefed the same day, because a habit corrected in week one is cheap and a habit corrected in month six is not.

04

Promote the people who did the work

Every leadership role at EBM has been filled from inside. If you want to know what our culture rewards, look at who is running the accounts — all of them started on a retail floor.

Training & Development

A structure that assumes you are new to this.

Most of our team had no retail marketing background before joining. That is by design — we would rather teach a coachable person the craft than inherit someone else's shortcuts.

The structure is deliberately repetitive: daily briefings before doors open, role-play on the objections that actually come up, weekly one-to-ones with a field leader, and recertification whenever a product line changes. Progression is mapped in advance, so nobody has to guess what earns the next step.

Leadership

Who you will actually be dealing with.

Small team, no layers. When you call EBM about an account, you reach someone who can make a decision about it.

Office of the CEO

Sets the standard for how a brand gets represented on a Mid-Michigan floor, and still works accounts directly. Handles brand partnerships, territory strategy and the final call on whether we can deliver what a partner is asking for.

Office Administration

Runs scheduling, onboarding and the reporting our partners rely on. If your application, invoice or weekly report needs chasing, this is the desk that owns it — and the reason coverage holds together across five counties.

Hiring is ongoing across the field team. If you are looking for the people side of EBM rather than the partnership side, start with careers.
