This policy explains what personal information EBM Marketing collects through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how you can ask us to change or delete it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.

EBM Marketing is a retail marketing company based in Saginaw, Michigan, United States. For the purposes of this policy, we are the party responsible for the personal information collected through this website.

2. What we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us, plus a limited amount of technical data that is created automatically when any website is visited.

Information you submit

  • Contact enquiries. Your name, company (if given), email address, phone number (if given), the subject you selected, and your message.
  • Job applications. Your name, email address, phone number, city, the position and availability you selected, your experience level, any message you add, and your resume file.

Information collected automatically

  • Server and security data. Your IP address, the date and time of a form submission, and basic request information. This is used to prevent spam and abuse of our forms, and to diagnose faults.
  • Analytics data. If analytics or tag management is enabled on this site, standard usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device type and referring site may be collected. This data is not used to identify you personally.

3. Why we use it

  • To answer your enquiry or evaluate your application. This is the primary and usually the only purpose.
  • To contact you about the specific matter you raised with us.
  • To protect our forms from automated abuse, including spam filtering and rate limiting.
  • To understand in general terms how the website is used, so we can improve it.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not add enquirers or applicants to marketing lists. If you contacted us about one thing, we will not use your details to market something else to you.

4. Third-party services

A small number of external services are involved in running this website. Each has its own privacy policy.

  • Google reCAPTCHA. Used to distinguish genuine form submissions from automated ones. Google receives technical data about your interaction with the form in order to score it.
  • Google Tag Manager and analytics. Used, where enabled, to measure website usage.
  • Google Fonts. Typefaces are loaded from Google's font service, which receives your IP address as part of that request.
  • Google Maps. The map on our contact page is embedded from Google Maps.
  • Our web host. Our hosting provider processes and stores the data submitted through this site on our behalf.

5. Cookies

This website does not set cookies of its own for tracking or advertising. Cookies may be set by the third-party services listed above — principally reCAPTCHA and, where enabled, analytics. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; doing so may prevent our forms from submitting successfully, since the spam check depends on reCAPTCHA.

6. How long we keep information

  • Contact enquiries: kept for up to 24 months, then deleted, unless the enquiry has become an ongoing business relationship.
  • Job applications and resumes: kept for up to 12 months so we can consider you for later openings, then deleted. Tell us if you would prefer we delete yours sooner.
  • Security and rate-limiting logs: kept for a short period, typically no more than 90 days.

7. How we protect it

Form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Uploaded resumes are stored outside the publicly accessible part of our website, renamed so they cannot be guessed, and restricted to the accounts that need them. Access to enquiries and applications is limited to the people at EBM Marketing who handle them.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. If a breach ever affected your information, we would notify you as required by applicable law.

8. Your choices and rights

You may ask us to:

  • tell you what information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is wrong or out of date;
  • delete your information, including your resume, where we have no legal reason to keep it;
  • stop contacting you.

Email info@ebmmarketing.com and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional statutory rights, and nothing in this policy limits them.

9. Children

This website is intended for adults and for applicants of legal working age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Links to other sites

Where we link to another organisation's website, that site's own privacy practices apply once you leave ours. We are not responsible for their content or their handling of your information.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use information already collected will be described clearly rather than folded quietly into the text.
